Rotary Club Wasaga Beach Donates $80,000 Of Charity Monies To Arena/Library Fund.

The Town of Wasaga Beach is pleased to announce that the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach has donated $80,000 to the town’s twin-pad arena and library fundraising campaign.

“We are extremely grateful to the club for this very generous contribution to our project,” Mayor Nina Bifolchi said. “The Rotary Club has a long-established record of supporting important local causes. The club’s investment in our arena and library will touch many lives in the years to come.”

In recognition of the donation, the second floor multipurpose room and the youth space in the library will carry the club’s name.

Rotarians and concerned citizens are somewhat alarmed. They cannot believe that money from people that gave for good causes ended up going towards a build of an arena and library. But more alarming is they have pointed out the conflict with Rotary members directly involved with the build who are GEORGE VADEBONCOEUR, CAO, GEORGE WATSON, COUNCILLOR, SYLVIA BRAY, D.M her husband, MARK WINEGARDEN, President of Rotary and indirectly MELISSA WEISS whose husband is the newly appointed CAO of Hydro and (Councillor)Stan Wells (daughter). $80,000 could have helped feed and put a roof over the head of a many families that have no place to live in this town. Instead it went for a ROOM named after the Rotary.

This type of collusion needs to come to an immediate stop. As a member of your council, I promise to act immediately to put an end to this type of pickle barreling and inside favoritism. It is time to vote in a council that represents all of our citizen's.
